Advantages

TC-ER Listing – Draka Autoflex TCP is designed and constructed to meet the NEC 336.10(7) which allows TC-ER (tray cables-exposed run) cables permitted to extend from the cable tray to a piece of equipment without the use of a conduit. Virtually any length of cable can be used for circuit extension from cable tray to the equipment served.

TC-ER cables eliminate the requirement for Type MC cables by complying with the crush and impact resistance of Type MC cable.

Stranding– Draka Autoflex TCP uses a class (K) copper strand that provides superior flexibility over the class (B) building wire copper strand used in MC and Teck cables.

Easy to Work With – Compared to an armored cable, the flexible strand, insulation and jacketing compounds provide for a cable that is much easier to work with during installation.

Connectors-JAG vs. Cord Grips – Draka Autoflex TCP utilizes standard cable grips with or without mesh which are a major cost savings over Jacketed Armor Grips (JAG).

Installation costs – Draka Autoflex TCP doesn’t require any special installation and cutting tools that Armored Cables require. Most contractors find that the cable itself is physically easier to work with and can bend into tight fighting applications.

Reel Lengths – Draka Autoflex TCP cables have considerably smaller over all diameters compared to an armored cable product, allowing for longer continuous cable lengths on the reel, and reduced weight with ease of installation.

Cost of Shipping – Draka Autoflex TCP has a significantly reduced weight to comparable sized armored cables. This is a tremendous savings in shipment costs.

Applications

FLAT-FLEX® Festooning Cable is primarily designed for use with festoon systems for the conveyance of electrical power and control to cranes, hoists, or any other equipment which travels with a lateral traversing motion. FLAT-FLEX cables can also be used where space is at a premium, since it can be stacked; or where extreme flexing is a requirement, recommended bend radius of three to five times cable diameter. FLAT-FLEX cables are suitable for either indoor or outdoor applica- tions operating at -40°C to 105°C. However, they are not recom- mended for severe flexing or impact at temperatures below -10°C. For severe flexing applications below -10°C, specify FLAT-FLEX® Neoprene Festoon Cables.
